Frank 'Sonny' Edward Williams Sr. was born March 5 1942 to the union of the late George James Williams Sr. and Ida Mae Clark Williams in Memphis, Tn. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater Southside Missionary Baptist Church. He graduated from Lester High school. After graduation he was drafted into the US Army where he served from 1962 to 1964 and then he joined the army reserves. He retired from Memphis Defense Depot. He returned to work for Laidlaw. Sonny married Dorothy Jean Castle and to this union Frank Jr. and Cherylynn were born. Sonny departed on August 26, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. George Williams Sr. and Ida Mae Clark Williams, his three siblings: Mr. James Eddie Williams, Mr. Alphonso Williams, (Janelle) and Mr. George James Williams Jr. (Florine). His only surviving brother, Charles H. Williams, (Helen) died on August 31, 2023. Sonny leaves Frank Williams Jr. (Doretha), Cherylynn Tucker (Alfred) and grandchildren: Lonnie, Sedonia and Carolyn.
