Joseph Louise Pete, "Jo Peete, was born July 13, 1946 in Stanton, TN.   Joseph departed this life on Thursday, July 2, 2020 in Memphis, TN at the age of 73 at Methodist University Hospital.

Joseph Peete is the first child of Odessa Peete Bolden and Edward Harper, who both preceded him in death.    Joseph Peete leaves to mourn his passing, a daughter, Tracey Brown, a son, Tecumseh Pete, 3 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 5 sisters: Jacqueline Harris, Mary Ann Harris (William), Ruby Branch, Brenda Hart, Virginia Walton, 3 brothers: Larry Bolden and Donald Bolden; Raymond Bolden preceded him in death; two uncles, two aunts, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

At an early age, Joseph joined St. Mathew Baptist Church in Stanton, Tennessee. Prior to relocating to Memphis with his family, he attended the church's elementary school.    He furthered his academic career by attending Memphis City Schools and graduated from Lester High School.

Joseph had a passion for meeting new people, sharing numerous stories, and engaging in great controversial topics regarding historical events and politics.   Joseph had an over 40-year career as a taxi driver, withstanding the test of time.      At the time of his departure, he was employed by City Wide Cab Co.
