Floyd L. Burks, Sr. was born October 11, 1960 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Mr. Lee Andrew Burks and Thelma Earnestine Burks. He departed this life April 7, 2015. Floyd accepted Christ at a young age at Early Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Herman Powell. He was united in holy matrimony to Tonja Michele Burks. Floyd gradated from East High School. He also attended Lane College and later joined the United States Marine Corp. He leaves to cherish his loving memories a loving wife Mrs. Tonja Michele Burks; five sons, Floyd (Tyra) Burks, Jr., Demario (Jikena) Bush, Floyd (Verlisa) Reed, Teres Bush and Devario Burks; two daughters, Keosha Burks and Precious Johnson; two sisters, Sharron Burks and Cheryl Burks; two brothers, Melvin (Maye) Burks and Marvin (Sonja) Burks. Fifteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends to mourn his passing.
